Nationwide promotion of the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition, integrating soccer enthusiasm just before the soccer world championship 2006

  • Main goals are sales and increase of awareness

Realization
Following the instigating motto “start something sporty” a POS expert promotion with accompanying street sampling is done in the 70 top-selling stores.

  • Excellent customer approach via the theme worlds “sport” and “soccer”; presentation of Media Center Edition as digital sport studio.
  • Design of a POS promotion tool, offering possibilities for cross-selling and permanent second placements
  • Street promotion in areas of high population density with raffle
  • Far-reaching communication campaign in collaboration with McCannErickson: radio spots, print ads, event website, direct-household-distribution of information brochures

Results

  • Very good evaluation by the management of electronics stores as well as by the end consumers
  • Increase of product awareness and the reach of qualitative sales goals
